Why is the Labour Cost Survey important?
The statistics produced based on Labour Cost Survey (LCS) data, give important information regarding the structure and level of labour costs, hours worked and hours paid. Data is broken down by economic activity and enterprise size. The results of this survey are used for the compilation of indicators such as the hourly labour cost, which are useful for monitoring the progress of the economy and the labour market. They therefore provide a powerful tool in the decision making process and planning of the government and other authorities regarding the structure and level of labour costs in Cyprus, affecting the economy as a whole.
