METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Description

Information is provided for the final consumption expenditure of households consists of expenditure incurred of resident households on the economic territory and abroad (National Concept). 
Data is avalable at Current Market Prices, Volume measures (constant prices) based on Chain Linked Method and Previous Year Prices.

Method

The estimation procedure to convert Final consumption expenditure of households from Domestic Concept to National Concept is made after the addition of residents's household expenditure abroad and the deduction of consumption expenditure of non-residents in the economic territory.

The main source for both consumption expenditure by resident households in the rest of the world and consumption expenditure by non-residents in the economic territory is the Balance of Payments (BoP) compiled by the Central Bank of Cyprus.

Data Coverage

The statistical data for final consumption expenditure of households are based on the European System of Accounts 2010 (ESA 2010). All domestic households and non-resident households on the economic territory are covered (Government controlled areas).

Frequency

The statistical data for final consumption expenditure of households are produced on an annual basis.

Data Availability

The statistical data for final consumption expenditure of households are available in electronic form on the Statistical Service website and on the Eurostat website. Statistical time series are available from 1995 until the last year that data is available.

Comparability Over Time

The data are comparable over time.

Principal Variables

The main variables are:
- Total final consumption expenditure of households (domestic concept),
- Final consumption expenditure of resident households in the rest of the world,
- Final consumption expenditure of non-resident households on the economic territory,
- Total final consumption expenditure of households (national concept).

Classification Systems

The European System of Accounts 2010 (ESA 2010) defines the Classifiaction of Individual Consumption by Purpose (COICOP) in 2-digit analysis which is used to record the final consumption expenditure of households.

Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 May 2013 on the European system of national and regional accounts in the European Union.
