Analysis and presentation of the latest demographic developments. This includes, among others, indicators regarding the total population by month and end-year population estimates by five-year age groups, birth statistics and fertility indicators, death statistics and mortality indicators, data on marriages, divorces, civil unions and dissolutions, migration etc.
Ecclesiastical marriages are recorded from the registers at the ecclesiastical districts and civil marriages are obtained from the Municipalities. Civil unions and their dissolutions are obtained from the District Administration Offices and divorces from the Supreme Court. Birth and death records are received from the Ministry of Interior and the Health Monitoring Unit of the Ministry of Health and are processed accordingly. Statistics on the number of immigrants and emigrants are compiled based on the Passengers Survey (at arrivals and departures), as well as on administrative sources such as the Migration Department, the Asylum Service and others.

Demographic statistics are published on an annual basis on CYSTAT's online database, CYSTAT-DB (Statistical subtheme: Population), as customisable tables. Additionally, data are transmitted and published on Eurostat's website.
