The Continuing Vocational Training Survey (CVTS) gives detailed information on enterprises' practices in training activities for their personnel. In particular, it gives information about the provision by enterprises of CVT courses (internal or external), the participation of persons employed in these courses, the cost and duration of the courses as well as the participation of persons employed in Initial Vocational Training courses.
A sample survey conducted via a web questionnaire (CAWI), which is completed by the enterprise. The sample includes about 1.600 enterprises for 2020 and is selected using sampling by stratified economic activity (Nace Rev. 2) and enterprise size.
The CVTS covers enterprises in all economic activities, excluding Agriculture, Fishing, Public Administration and Defence, Education, Human Health and Social Work activities, Activities of Private Households and Extra-territorial Organisations. It covers enterprises with 10 or more employees.
The statistical unit of the survey is the enterprise.
The CVTS is conducted every 5 years (reference years: 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020 etc.)
A report (publication) is available for year 2005.Data are also available on EUROSTAT's website for the years 2005, 2010 and 2015.
The data are comparable over time.
