Collection and compilation of data regarding the number of enterprises, employment, production value, value added, stocks, capital investments, labour cost and other expenditures, in order to estimate the structural developments and the contribution to the economy of the broad industrial sector (sections B-E of the NACE Rev.2 classification system of economic activities), which includes mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity supply, water supply, sewerage and materials recovery.
Sample survey, with personal interviews on a sample of around 1.500 enterprises.
The Industrial Production Survey covers enterprises which are classified in the broad industrial sector (sections B to E of the NACE Rev.2 classification system of economic activities), which includes mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity supply, water supply, sewerage and materials recovery. Enterprises having one or more employees, producing turnover or having capital investments during the reference year are covered in the survey. The statistical unit of the survey is the enterprise.

The results of the Industrial Production Survey are announced by Press Release and are included in the report "Industrial Statistics". Reports (publications) are available since 1963. For the years 2003-2016, the publications are also available in electronic form. From 2016 onwards, the results are published in the form of tables on the website of the Statistical Service.

Economic activity: Statistical classification of economic activities in the European Community (NACE Rev. 2). Results are disseminated at the 4-digit level.
