Latest Figures: Revenue from Tourism, Jan 2018

On the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey, revenue from tourism reached €38,4 mn in January 2018 compared to €35,4 mn in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording an increase of 8,5%.

The expenditure per person for January 2018 reached €506,49 compared to €565,48 in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording a decrease of 10,4%. The expenditure per person/per day for January 2018 compared to January 2017 also recorded a decrease of 6,4%.

In January 2018 a decrease of 20,1% was recorded for the expenditure per person for tourists from the United Kingdom (from €727,29 in January 2017 to €581,29 in January 2018), 7,3% decrease from Greece (from €343,56 to €318,36 this year) and 3,9% decrease from Russia (from €606,82 to €583,37 this year).

The expenditure per person/per day for tourists from the United Kingdom recorded a decrease of 16,6% (from €60,11 in January 2017 to €50,11 in January 2018), the expenditure per person/per day for tourists from Greece also decreased by 0,9% (from €37,34 to €37,02) and for tourists from Russia decreased by 17,1% (from €80,91 to €67,05).
