Latest Figures: Government Labour Force by Category, 2017
The government labour force increased by 2.110 persons (4,3%) in 2017 compared to 2016 and reached 50.740 persons. The casual staff increased by 22,6% and reached 14.748 persons compared to 12.026 persons in 2016. Permanent staff decreased by 613 persons (-1,7%).
The largest increase is observed in Security Forces (21,0%) and more specifically in the casual staff which is increased by 81,0% (2.216 persons). The largest percentage decrease is in Hourly Paid Workers (-2,2%) and specifically in the permanent staff which is decreased by -2,7% (187 persons).
