Latest Figures: Labour Force Survey - Main Results, 4th Quarter 2014

According to the results of the Labour Force Survey for the 4th quarter of 2014, the number of employed persons amounted to 368.772 (males 186.871 and females 181.901) and the number of unemployed persons to 70.267 (males 37.941 and females 32.326).

The employment rate for persons aged 20-64 was 68,4% (males 71,9% and females 65,2%) recording an increase from the previous quarter of 2014 (67,9%) and the corresponding quarter of 2013 (67,0%).

The unemployment rate amounted to 16,0% of the labour force (males 16,9% and females 15,1%) remaining at the same level as the previous quarter of 2014 (16,0%) and the corresponding quarter of 2013 (16,0%). Also the unemployment rate for young persons aged 15-24 amounted to 33,7% of the labour force of the same age group remaining at the same level as the previous quarter of 2014 (33,4%) and recording a decrease from the corresponding quarter of 2013 (39,4%).

For the whole 2014 the unemployment rate was 16,1% in comparison to 15,9% in 2013. A more detailed analysis of the survey data is presented in the main results tables.
