On 20 December 2012, the handover meeting of the Trio Presidency of the Council Working Party on Statistics took place at the Filoxenia Conference Centre in Nicosia. Delegations from the outgoing (Poland, Denmark and Cyprus) and the incoming (Ireland, Lithuania and Greece) Trio Presidencies attended the meeting, as well as a delegation from the Commission (Eurostat).

The meeting was divided into two parts: an official morning session and an unofficial afternoon session.
Trio partners and Eurostat delegations were acquainted with the state of play of each dossier that the outgoing Trio Presidency was dealing with from July 2011 until December 2012. Furthermore, during the unofficial part of the meeting, the delegations shared their experiences and discussed the practicalities of holding the Presidency.
The handover meeting was held in a very friendly atmosphere. CYSTAT would like to thank all the participants in the handover meeting for their contribution and wishes Ireland and the rest of the Trio Presidencies (Lithuania and Greece) a successful term in office.
